I was a bit hesitant to get on the scale this morning after what my husband cooked me for Valentines Day yesterday. He came home with thick rib steaks, lobster, rolls and of course opened a bottle of wine. I couldn’t say no thank you after all, he was thinking about some of my favorite things. We sat down to a nice dinner and I did enjoy a little bit of everything. I have been trying to eat healthy and don’t indulge much so I guess it pays off when you have a little treat from time to time. The days are going by quickly and I haven’t started packing anything yet. We are going out of town again today so packing will have to wait at least until Sunday. I wish there were more spring and summer clothes in stores right now. I keep hoping to get a few more things for the trip. Right now it is time to pack an overnight bag and head to Fredericton to see our son, visit with friends and take in another wrestling tournament tomorrow.
Well I haven’t kept my day to day updates like I had hoped to but, all in all things are going pretty good. I am down 3 pounds since I started my last try before Cuba. Considering everything that has been happening, I am happy about those 3 pounds. I have been out of town twice to wrestling tournaments and for prom dress shopping with my son’s girlfriend. Being on the road is a challenge as everyone knows but, I gave it a good effort. The only really bad thing I ate were french fries. We were on our way home at suppertime and we hadn’t eaten since breakfast. I knew that my husband was going to have a nice supper waiting for me but, that was 2.5 hours away. I gave in as I was ordering for my passenger and added fries for myself. They were very good, it had been a very long time since I had eaten french fries. I also went out to a friend’s birthday party that night at a pub and drank a couple of beer which, I never usually drink but, it was a great time with great friends. Getting back to eating healthy right away is the reason for the 3 pound loss. Yes maybe it would have been a bit more without the fries and beer but, my goal was always to eat healthy to lose weight slowly but, surely so when you do detour from the healthy food once in awhile it won’t affect things too much. Time is counting down quickly for Cuba. I would still like to lose at least another 10 pounds before we leave. I had better get at it.
