My son wanted me to try these Focus T25 Workout videos for a 25 minute workout five days a week. He knows that I have many physical limitations due to back and leg problems. In every workout video there is a modified version that you can follow for as long as you need or want to. I have just finished day 3 and all I can say is thank goodness that Tanya is in these videos. Tanya is the one to follow if your doing the modified version for light impact. Today was the hardest and I actually couldn’t do a lot of it. There were push up position exercises that Tanya did from her knees. Because my knees are shot, I cannot get on my knees for anything because there is too much pain. When they were doing those I just improvised myself and kept moving and punching. My daughter was home for the first two days and we did the workout together but, she went back to University yesterday and today I was on my own. She said that she will continue to do them and we can compare everyday how we made out. I am going to try and do them everyday the best that I can knowing that there will be lots that I will not be able to do. I am looking at it as a little is better than nothing. My kids are encouraging me and cheering me on. Here is hoping that I can make them proud. If you want to compare notes and or pain, please follow along with me and see if we can get healthier together.
The 3 kids were home from University for this Remembrance Day Long weekend. I knew that The Trews were going to be playing so I bought everyone tickets so we could see them together. It was an early Christmas gift for everyone. If you don’t know who they are, please go to The Trews and listen to some of their music. They have a great sound and are loved by all age groups. Not only do they play great music but, two of them are also our Cousin’s, John-Angus and Colin MacDonald. A third member of the band, Sean Dalton is their cousin so maybe we are some how related to him too but, I do not know that family tree yet. The fourth member Jack Syperek is their good friend. We had never met them but, since they were playing in our home town I was hoping that we would have the chance. They are from small town, Antigonish, Nova Scotia which is about a 2.5 hour drive from us and their mother still lives there. Knowing that their mother goes to their concerts when she can, my husband gave her a call to see if she was coming. They grew up together in Campbellton, NB and their families were very close. My husband’s mother and her mother were sisters. My husband’s father and her father were brothers. Making them cousin’s twice. Sure enough their mom was coming up for the concert and was also bringing her daughter and her grandson. She told my husband that we will for sure have a chance to meet them. The concert was great. There were 7 of us, my husband and I, our 4 grown kids and my son’s girlfriend. After the show John-Angus and Colin’s mom came out to find us and took us all back stage. It was great to meet them not only because they are a great band but, they are relatives that none of us had ever met including their sister and 2.5 year old nephew. We had a great visit with them, exchanging a few stories and just having a fun. The guys are very friendly and didn’t mind me taking a few family pictures.
